At Al Ghurair University (AGU), we always believed in the importance of technology in education; and in line with this belief, AGU have been using Blackboard Learn for many years to reach our students more efficiently providing them with a wide range of learning styles.
Timely, AGU under the vision of Dr. Basem Alzahabi, President of the university, foresaw the need of upgrading the existing LMS to the Blackboard SaaS ULTRA version to empower the faculty and students with the required tools for an education beyond the boundaries and enhance the teaching and learning experience at the university. After successfully testing the Blackboard SaaS ULTRA during the distance learning due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are proud to announce that AGU is fully launching Blackboard SaaS ULTRA from 10th May 2020. This is a new milestone for the university as it moves forward to the blended mode of learning.
In Summer 2019-20, starting from 10th May 2020, the faculty will deliver live synchronous online courses effectively using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.
The AGU community will utilize the new version for, but not limited to, the following:
- Synchronous online delivery of contents of courses
- Virtual faculty – students and departmental meetings
- Strengthening the need of virtual community among students
- Faculty and students’ professional development training
- Virtual conferences/seminars/webinars online
- Organizing AGU OPENT DAYS for prospective students
- Conduction of online exams
We are confident that the new features of Blackboard SaaS ULTRA will support the individual development of AGU students and pave the way for more innovative lesson planning. As technology will continue to evolve, AGU will undoubtedly continue to invest in technology to develop its systems providing students with a more advanced and tailored experience.
We thank the Blackboard Team for their support for making Blackboard SaaS ULTRA a success at AGU.
