Al Ghurair University provides its students with a well sourced Library equipped with a wide variety of educational and research material for the benefit of all faculty, staff and students. Library being the key provider of quality information and related services, directly contributes to the drive for quality learning and excellence supporting the mission of the University. Al Ghurair University library holdings comprise of books, periodicals, audio/video/ CD/DVD collection and databases for e-books, e-journal articles and e-reference works.
The Library has spacious reading room, group study rooms, computers with internet access, wireless access, photocopying and printing facilities.
The faculty, staff and the students of Al Ghurair University are eligible to borrow books and other materials from the library. You will need your valid Identity Card to borrow items.
Online Reference service:
“Chat with Librarian” provides reference service and answers to queries online.
Reprographic services are extended to students for photocopying and printing. Use of valid ID card is mandatory.
Inter-library loan service:
Inter-library loan service is provided to faculty and students on request.
Computer and internet access service:
Library provides computers with internet access and WiFi connectivity.
Access to electronic version of books, journal articles, conference proceedings and magazines is provided through various subject-related databases.
OPAC- Online Public Access Catalog service:
Library offers Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) service for all students and faculty from within and outside AGU campus to browse through the library collections
Library provides researcher services by providing a range of resources that help to shape research projects, and publish articles.
Library provides a range of support for faculty and students to speed up referencing process.
A range of copyright guidance resources are provided to help understand how copyright affects teaching, research and study.
The purpose of the orientation program is to introduce new students to the library resources and services. At the beginning of each semester of the academic year, AGU conducts orientation sessions for new students.
Group Study and discussion:
Group study and discussion rooms are available for students . A Faculty room is reserved for research purpose.
The Tutoring Center provides small group faculty-led or peer tutoring to students in 60-minute sessions.
The Writing Center focuses on assisting students in writing assignments in any subject.
Engineering Source provides unmatched indexing and full-text coverage for engineering journals, magazines and trade publications. Engineering-focused monographs, books, conference papers and proceedings are also included.
Engineering disciplines include: electrical, civil, environmental, mechanical, software, structural and aerospace subjects. This resource is ideal for professionals at all levels of engineering, including research, planning, product development, management and supply chain.
ABI/INFORM Global offers business and financial information for researchers at all levels. ABI/INFORM Global contains the full text of thousands of journals, including essential scholarly journals and the most important trade journals. Coverage includes business conditions, management techniques, business trends, management practice and theory, corporate strategy and tactics, and competitive landscape. ABI/INFORM Global also includes non-periodical content including doctoral dissertations and master’s theses and full-text backfile coverage of The Wall Street Journal and The Economist.
The Art, Design & Architecture Collection
The Art, Design & Architecture Collection is a comprehensive survey of current publications in the fields of visual and applied arts, the Art, Design & Architecture. Collection includes ProQuest’s specialist indexes ARTbibliographies Modern (covering modern and contemporary art), Design & Applied Arts Index (for all aspects of design and crafts), and International Bibliography of Art (covering scholarship on western art history), together with a complementary collection of current full-text journals from ProQuest’s Arts & Humanities Database.
ACM Digital Library
The ACM Digital Library (DL) is the world’s most comprehensive database of full-text articles and bibliographic literature covering computing and information technology. This renowned repository includes the complete collection of ACM publications: conference proceedings, journals, magazines and newsletters plus an extended bibliographic database of core works in computing from scholarly publishers.

Friday, Saturday– CLOSED
The Library is closed on all UAE national holidays and official university holidays.
